About the Webinar

Proper preservation of electronic records includes the implementation of many different processes over time, but often one of the most important is the conversion of electronic records to long-term, or persistent, formats. For textual documents, one of the most promising formats for preservation is PDF/A, which was designed as a preservation format.

Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • Recognize the advantages and proper use of PDF/A as a preservation format;
  • Realize the limitations of PDF/A;
  • Identify the various versions of PDF/A and the ISO standards;
  • See processes for converting electronic documents to PDF/A; and,
  • Understand quality control procedures and general preservation management for PDFs.

Who Should Attend?

Archivists and others who must deal with the conversion of electronic records to long-term, or persistent, formats.

What Should You know?
