CAA invites you to the Newberry Library for a day of research and history on Saturday, July 11. Reference librarians will lead Genealogy 101, an introductory research orientation, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in Baskes Hall. Following a coffee and lunch break from 11 am to 12:30 pm, we will gather back at the Newberry at 1 pm for a guided tour of the exhibition Conceived in Liberty: Cartoons, Caricatures, and Illustrations in the Wartime US, 1812-1918. Attendance at all parts of the event is encouraged but not mandatory.

When registering, please indicate which parts of the event you plan to attend. Those who do not plan to attend the genealogy class but want to join the group for lunch can meet at the Newberry at 11.

Schedule:
9:30-10:30 - Genealogy 101 class
11:00-12:30 - lunch break
1:00-2:00 - exhibit tour

This event is free and open to all. While there is no registration for the genealogy workshop on the Newberry’s site, we ask that you please indicate that you plan to attend on our CAA registration page so we know whom to look for.
