Charting Imaginary Worlds exhibition tour On Thursday, November 6th from either 11 am-12 pm or 1:30-2:30 pm, please join the CAA Curation and Exhibitions Interest Group for a tour of the Hanna Holborn Gray Special Collections’ fall exhibit Charting Imaginary Worlds: Why Fantasy and Games are Inseparable. The exhibition examines the reciprocal relationship between the fantasy genre and roleplaying games and is part of UChicago Library’s wider Year of Games initiative to celebrate all forms of games throughout the academic year. The tour is available before or after the World Digital Preservation Day games event.
World Digital Preservation Day games event November 6th is World Digital Preservation Day and UChicago Library’s digital preservation team is hosting a brown bag lunch session from 12-1:30 pm and invite you to play a variety of board, card, and computer games related to digital preservation, while enjoying light treats and enhancing your understanding of digital preservation activities and goals at UChicago Library.
Schedule: 11:00-12:00 – Gallery open to visit Charting Imaginary Worlds 12:00-12:10 – Gather and choose your game 12:10-12:20 – Game facilitators will teach you how to play the game 12:20-1:30 – Play, eat, have fun! 1:30-2:30 – Gallery open to visit Charting Imaginary Worlds
The event is free, but registration is limited to 10 people. Please register by October 30, 2025.
