Volunteer your professional skills or learn new ones at a Day of Service to benefit the American Indian Center, 3401 W Ainslie in Albany Park. Serving nearly 65,000 American Indians living in the Chicagoland region, the American Indian Center (AIC) fosters community through social and cultural resources that encourage education, the preservation of tradition, and multi-generational bonds. On May 6, volunteers will work to organize, rehouse, and inventory the archive including slides, photographs, manuscripts, books, postcards, and potentially other materials.

Participants must be at least 18 years old, but all experience levels are welcomed.

Please visit the event page for more details.

Date: Sunday, May 6

Time: 10 AM - 4 PM. Please plan to attend the entire day.

Location: 3401 W. Ainslie, Albany Park, Chicago

Registration required by 30 April. Limited to 20 participants.

Because of the limited space, this event is open to CAA members only. If it does not fill, we will open to everyone.

Please be aware that the work site is on the second floor level and there is no elevator access. If you have a disability that prevents you from accessing the work site but would like to volunteer, please register and then write to info@chicagoarchivists.org with "Day of Service" in the subject line so that the organizers can make advance accommodations.
