Tour of SAIC’s Fashion Resource Center

CAA invites you to join your fellow archivists, librarians, and records managers for a tour of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Fashion Resource Center.

As part of SAIC’s Special Collections, the Fashion Resource Center (FRC) maintains a unique hands-on collection of late 20th- and 21st-century designer garments and accessories representing extreme innovation. The robust collection also contains over 3,200 fashion publications, scholarly texts, fashion magazines, contemporary designer biographies & interviews, and more than 800 videos of ready-to-wear and couture runway presentations, technical instruction, interviews, fashion history, and annual student fashion shows. Alex Aubry, the Director of the Fashion Resource Center, will give a tour of the center, including a selection of their holdings.
