&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) team provides education, resources, and advocacy to help our members improve the experience and safety of patients in their care. The Wood Library-Museum of Anesthesiology (WLM) is a 501c(3) affiliate institution of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). The Archives and Library Assistant supports the organization, preservation, and accessibility of materials in the archival and library collections of the WLM.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Primary Position Responsibilities:&lt;br&gt;
• Perform cataloging, classification, processing, and maintenance activities for library and archival collections.&lt;br&gt;
• Assist with maintaining and updating the collection management system to support accurate and complete records.&lt;br&gt;
• Assist with reference inquiries and research visits.&lt;br&gt;
• Support WLM programs and services.&lt;br&gt;
• Digitize collection materials and create metadata to support discovery and preservation.&lt;br&gt;
• Assist with scheduled inventories of library collections, rare book room collections, and archival materials.&lt;br&gt;
• Protect and preserve collections in accordance with best practices and organizational procedures.&lt;br&gt;
• Rehouse and label materials for preservation and accessibility.&lt;br&gt;
• Adhere to institutional policies and professional ethical standards.&lt;br&gt;
• Maintain collection areas in a neat and organized manner.&lt;br&gt;
• Ability to perform work in alignment with ASA core values: Dedication, Collaboration, Commitment to Excellence, Continuous Improvement.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Qualifications:&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;• High school or vocational degree required with some experience supported by on-the-job training.&lt;br&gt;
• Minimum 1 year of professional training or work experience in library cataloging and knowledge of archival principles and operations.&lt;br&gt;
• Familiarity with digitization, cataloging workflows, metadata standards, and the born-digital archival lifecycle.&lt;br&gt;
• Experience working with a foundation or non-profit organization preferred.&lt;br&gt;
• Ability to perform repetitive work and attention to detail is necessary.&lt;br&gt;
• Excellent team player who fosters teamwork, personal responsibility, integrity, innovation, trust, and communication.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Part time, Temporary or Term: 20 hours per week (flexible within a M-F 8:30am-4pm work day), working hours onsite through December 31, 2026 with a renewable option for up to two years&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Salary: $25 per hour, paid monthly&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Naperville Historical Society at Naper Settlement is seeking to contract with a qualified Metadata Specialist to research and create metadata in support of our Whole History Project. Reporting to the Chief Curator, the Metadata Specialist will possess knowledge of archival standards for metadata. The work will take place at our Fort Hill Collections and Care Center in Naperville. Works in coordination and cooperation with the Scanning Technicians, Digital Archivist, and other staff as needed.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Contract position will do the following:&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
• Research archival materials to determine their origins.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
• Create and apply appropriate original descriptive metadata to the systems. (Standards: EAD, Dublin Core, MODS, METS, PREMIS).&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
• Follow established workflows and storage procedures to backup digital content and performs activities in support of controlled vocabularies (such as Getty vocabularies and Nomenclature 4.0) and entity management workflows.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
• Ingest digital files and their metadata into digital preservation software. (Metadata++ and digital preservation software Preservica.)&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
• Ensure that collection material is physically prepped and archival standards are followed for the proper care and handling of physical archival material.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
• Verify proper documentation, metadata, and storage procedures are followed, in accordance with nationally accepted standards&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 13px;"&gt;Required: Bachelor’s degree&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
