The Archives Assistant performs a variety of routine and special project related tasks that support the overall strategic priorities of University Archives and Special Collections (UASC) and its users. Responsibilities include collection management and processing, working on physical and digital displays and exhibits, managing the department’s social media accounts, and reference service.

May require evening and weekend hours.

Bachelor’s degree required. Coursework in archival processing and/or public history, or experience working with primary sources in a museum or archives setting preferred.

Required Qualifications: Effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as part of a team and independently; well-developed analytical and problem solving skills; exercises good judgment and is capable of accurate and detail-oriented work. Familiarity with software and web applications such as Adobe Photoshop, ArchivesSpace, G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) preferred.
